Come join us as we take a trip down the Kankakee River and surrounding marsh land, from St. Joseph County to the Illinois state line. This river and marsh once thrived as a hunting and fishing paradise after the American Civil War through the early 1900's when the marsh was drained to create new farmland. The once slow moving river was also dredged and the channel straightened, which also helped in destroying the once flourishing sporting industry.
